Product Description
Wild Norwegian Pure Omega 3 Capsules
Healthy Essentials premium quality Omega 3 concentrate is supplied by the highly respected Norwegian manufacturer GC Rieber. Sourced from the wild oceans, the Omega 3 rich sardines & anchovies are sustainably harvested in accordance to the IFFO RS standards and with ‘Friend of the Sea’ certification. Strict catch limits are set each year based on the available amount of fish, not on the demand for fish oil, ensuring minimal risk of species endangerment.
Our high concentrate Omega 3 oil is purified by molecular distillation in GC Rieber’s state of the art refining facility, ensuring all heavy metals and contaminants are removed. GC Rieber oils are HACCP method certified and operate in accordance with EU hygiene regulation which require that all fish caught must be fit for human consumption, be processed within 24 hours and kept chilled. This guarantees product freshness.
Encapsulated in an easy to swallow, natural vanilla flavoured, 1200mg capsule. Contains twice the amount of active components found in a standard fish oil capsule with the addition of Phospholipids (Lecithin) and the enzyme Lipase to improve breakdown and absorption. The odorless oil will cause no fishy aftertaste and have minimal to no reflux.
Omega-3:
Wild Norwegian Pure Omega 3 contains a potent concentration of the highly unsaturated fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), which are essentials for such things as proper brain function, controlling blood cholesterol levels, improving immune function, improving metabolism and reducing inflammation.
The modern western diet is typically too high in Omega 6 and this leads to an imbalance in the ideal 1:1 ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 in the body. A diet too high in Omega 6 is detrimental to ones health and will stimulate inflammatory processes in the body due to an excess production of arachidonic acid. Arachidonic acid encourages inflammation by producing the pro-inflammatory series 2 prostaglandins (PGE2).
Increasing the amount of Omega 3 fats in the diet can help return balance to this ratio and have an anti-inflammatory effect in the body through the production of the anti-inflammatory series 3 prostaglandins (PGE3).
DHA is the primary structural component of your retina and brain. A diet high in Omega 6 can lead to a deficiency in DHA which is associated with conditions such as ADHD (attention deficit disorder), depression, cardiovascular disease and other inflammatory disorders.
EPA is the precursor of DHA and is best known for its anti-inflammatory benefits. EPA inhibits the enzyme responsible for producing arachidonic acid, the precursor to the pro-inflammatory prostaglandin PGE2.
Omega 3 is highly recommended during pregnancy as is vital for foetal development. DHA is essential in the development of the brain and eyes.
Lecithin (Phospholipids):
Lecithin is a combination of 3 naturally occurring phospholipids and is a natural emulsifier. Clinical trials have shown enhanced absorption of EPA and DHA from emulsified fish oils compared to straight capsular triglyceride from fish oil.
Lecithin is also an excellent source of choline, which is essential to every living cell in the body and a key component of cell membranes. Lecithin aids in cognitive function, cardiovascular health, liver function and foetal development.
Lipase:
Lipase is a primary digestive enzyme which catalyses the breakdown of lipids (fats) such as found in fish oils so that they may be utilized by the body.
Pancreatic production of Lipase declines as we age and can contribute to deficiencies of essential omega 3 fatty acids.

Individuals that have had their gallbladder removed are often recommended to add Lipase and Lecithin to their meals to prevent deficiencies of essential fatty acids (omega 3 & 6).
